Dr. Kenston J. Griffin
Dr. Kenston J. Griffin, a Statesville, NC native, holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Livingstone College, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina—completed in just one year—and a Doctorate from Wilberforce University. He is a certified master-level executive coach, a best-selling author, and the founder and CEO of Dream Builders Communication, Inc. With nearly 20 years of experience building his vision, Dr. Griffin has learned one key lesson: “I can’t do it alone.” As CEO of Dream Builders Communication, Inc., he provides his team and clients with the vision and support needed for success. “We work hard to create a thriving culture,” says Dr. Griffin. “My responsibility is to ensure DBC continues to grow and excel.” Beyond his role as CEO, he serves as a mentor and coach, helping individuals and organizations achieve their goals through leadership development. Dr. Griffin’s journey wasn’t without challenges. He faced financial setbacks and personal doubts but overcame them with perseverance and belief in his vision. Today, DBC is a thriving organization committed to helping others succeed. Reginald Toxey, Jr
Reginald L. Toxey, Jr., a proud native of Elizabeth City, NC, began his entrepreneurial journey early, building a strong foundation in leadership and business skills before attending Elizabeth City State University. This early experience sparked his passion for innovation and professional growth. After moving to Charlotte, NC, Mr. Toxey furthered his education at the University of Phoenix and Capella University, earning an MBA in Human Resources and a graduate certificate in Project Management. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Toxey has built a successful career in leadership development, process improvement, and strategic initiatives. As COO of Dream Builders Communication Inc, he focuses on fostering growth, empowering teams, and improving systems. Combining practical experience with academic knowledge, Mr. Toxey is a leader who drives positive change and delivers results.

Sherry Griffin
Sherry Griffin, a native of Saint Stephens, SC, has a strong educational background. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lander University and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management from Webster University, equipping her with expertise in business and people management. Sherry is the VP of Finance and Human Resources at Dream Builders Communication Inc, where she assists clients in industries like Education and Financial Services streamline operations and achieve goals. Previously, she served as Assistant Director of Education and Workforce at the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, managing programs focused on workforce development and education. Sherry is active in her community. She serves on the YMCA Stratford Richardson Board, supporting health and wellness initiatives, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, with the Richland County Alumnae Chapter. Through her work and community involvement, Sherry exemplifies a commitment to fostering growth in individuals and organizations alike.

Kristine Donnery, MBA, PMP, is a highly accomplished executive assistant with over 30 years of experience in administrative roles, specializing in organizational efficiency, scheduling, project management, and event planning. Known for her attention to detail and proactive approach, Kristine has a proven track record in managing complex calendars, seamlessly coordinating high-level meetings, and optimizing data management systems to enhance operational workflows. Her ability to anticipate the needs of executives and teams makes her an invaluable asset to the DBC Team, where her expertise contributes to driving efficiency and success. Originally from Ireland, Kristine has built an impressive career serving as a C-Suite executive assistant and project manager for some of the most prestigious organizations in Boston and New York. Her dynamic professional portfolio includes collaborations with leading companies such as G-P, Everbridge, Endurance International (now Newfold Digital), Biogen, Veracode, Gartner Consulting, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In these roles, she developed a deep understanding of corporate operations, successfully supporting executives in navigating complex challenges and ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives. Beyond her professional achievements, Kristine is passionate about fostering positive work environments and mentoring others to reach their full potential.

Dr. Shawn Clemons
Dr. Shawn Clemons, a proud native of Maiden, NC, has devoted her life to education and leadership. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Math Education from NC State University, followed by multiple advanced degrees in K-12 Leadership and Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University, culminating in a Doctorate of Education. Her academic achievements reflect her passion for advancing education and empowering others. With over 30 years of experience, Shawn has held diverse roles, including math teacher, school administrator, curriculum director, accountability director, interim superintendent, and data use specialist. Her expertise spans classroom instruction to leadership, demonstrating her dedication to improving outcomes for students and educators. Dr. Clemons also teaches master’s-level education courses, mentoring future leaders. Beyond her career, she is active in her community, serving on the board of LCCADV, leading the Ridgeview Endowment committee at the Catawba Science Center, and proudly participating in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., which focuses on public service and sisterhood. Dr. Clemons dedication to education, leadership, and community service highlights her belief in the power of learning and collaboration. Dr. Kim Scott
Dr. Kim Scott, originally from Albemarle, NC, has dedicated his life to education, leadership, and service with a passion for helping others succeed. He earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Lee University, a Master’s in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Phoenix, building a strong foundation in teaching, adult learning, and educational leadership. Dr. Scott’s career spans over 30 years across public and charter schools. He began as an elementary school teacher, inspiring young learners, and later served as a middle and high school principal, where his vision for academic excellence earned widespread respect. As a district director of student services, he managed 24 schools, improving student outcomes and operational efficiency. Beyond K-12 education, Dr. Scott has contributed to higher education by mentoring future educators, fostering innovation, and guiding students toward academic and career success. A veteran of the United States Army, Dr. Scott developed a strong work ethic, discipline, and leadership skills that have shaped his career and service. Dr. Scott’s diverse background reflects his lifelong commitment to empowering others, driving change, and making a meaningful impact in education and the community.

Terrence Hawkins, EA
Terrance Hawkins, EA, a native of Henderson, NC, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. With over 30 years of experience in tax accounting and entrepreneurship, Terrance is also an Enrolled Agent (EA), authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS in all 50 states. A frequent guest on both local and national radio programs, he is a highly sought-after coach, trainer, and speaker. Terrance is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses implement effective strategies to ensure they never overpay on taxes.

Dr. Sheila Ijames
Sheila Ijames, a native of Statesville, NC, is a proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Intermediate Education. Her passion for education and leadership led her to pursue a Master of School Administration and a Master of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She later earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University, further solidifying her expertise in education. Dr. Ijames has had a distinguished career, positively influencing students, teachers, and school communities. She began as an elementary and middle school teacher, building a strong foundation in classroom instruction. Her leadership skills quickly led her to roles such as Instructional Facilitator, Assistant Principal, Title I Specialist, and assistant to an elementary area superintendent. She later served as a high school principal, guiding and inspiring students and staff on a larger scale. After leaving the public school system, Dr. Ijames continued serving youth as Regional Director of Youth Programs for a nonprofit organization, overseeing programs designed to empower and uplift the community. She has also shared her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at two colleges, mentoring future educators and professionals. Through each role, Dr. Ijames has consistently shown her dedication to improving education and supporting students and educators alike.

Dr. Alicia McCree
Dr. Alicia McCree is a proud Charlotte native and parent of two adult children, Dr. McCree holds a bachelor's degree in Education from Johnson C. Smith University, a Master’s in School Administration from UNC-Charlotte, as well as both an Educational Specialist degree and a Doctorate of Education from Wingate University. With over 30 years of experience in education, she has served in various roles including teacher, TD Catalyst, instructional facilitator, assistant principal, and school principal. Dr. McCree offers extensive expertise in several key areas, including K-12 school leadership, instructional leadership, data-driven instructional practices, classroom management, effective teaching methods, mentoring, coaching, organizational management and improvement, as well as instructional and program design and development, and project management. Her comprehensive background equips her to make significant contributions to educational environments, fostering growth and success for both students and staff. Importantly, her skills are highly transferable to other professions, enabling her to contribute effectively in diverse contexts outside of education. This adaptability allows her to leverage her extensive experience to foster growth and success in a variety of organizational settings.

Dr. Jennifer Hefner
Dr. Jennifer Hefner is a highly accomplished educational leader with over 30 years of dedicated service to Alexander County Schools. She began her career as a teacher assistant and bus driver at Sugar Loaf Elementary before moving into the classroom as a mathematics teacher at Bethlehem Elementary. During this time, she also contributed to the Alternative Learning Program at Alexander Central High School. Dr. Hefner's leadership journey included roles as Assistant Principal and Principal of Bethlehem Elementary, where she later served as Curriculum Specialist. At the district level, Dr. Hefner provided oversight for Elementary Curriculum, Student Services (K-12), and Title I programs, while playing a key role in implementing Common Core and Essential Standards. She went on to serve in central office leadership, including as Associate Superintendent, and ultimately as Superintendent of Alexander County Schools. Dr. Hefner’s career reflects her commitment to advancing student success, supporting educators, and strengthening academic programs across the district.

Kendra March, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in School Administration, as well as a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership: Superintendent Concentration all from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Kendra March has over 33 years in public education and has held progressive roles across states like North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and New York. Starting as a teacher, she climbed the ranks to assistant principal, principal, and principal supervisor. Most notably, she served as Deputy Superintendent in DeKalb County, Georgia, and Rochester, New York, and has recently focused on mentoring school leaders as a principal supervisor. Dr. March's dedication to educational advancement is further exemplified by her unwavering commitment to fostering collaborative environments and spearheading initiatives that prioritize student empowerment and instructional innovation. Her leadership has consistently inspired colleagues and shaped school cultures that celebrate community, encourage professional growth, and sustain ambitious standards for all learners

Dr. Allison Plunkett
Dr. Allison Plunkett is an accomplished educator and leader with more than 30 years of service in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where she served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She continues to shape the next generation of educators as an adjunct professor at Wingate University, an instructor at UNC-Charlotte, and a faculty member in the Master’s in School Administration program at the American College of Education. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Plunkett earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Virginia Tech, a master’s degree in School Administration from the University of South Carolina, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wingate University. Her doctoral research focused on educational neuroscience, with particular emphasis on Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment program. She has also published articles including From Cultural Deprivation to Enriched Learning for All and Neuroscience and Feuerstein: A Principal’s Eye on Critical Thinking, both featured by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning. Dedicated to building school cultures rooted in trust and respect, Dr. Plunkett is guided by her belief that “Our kids are worth whatever it takes.” Her work emphasizes connecting instructional practices to educational neuroscience, creating effective planning processes, and maintaining clear expectations for data-driven instruction.
